
Jazib Zahir
Jazib presently serves as the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and the Director of the LUMSx online learning platform at the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan. He has remained affiliated with higher education throughout his career pioneering university courses like ‘Business Communication’, ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Education’ and ‘AI and the Future of Work and Education’. His executive training programs have enrolled hundreds across Pakistan in education, government, multinationals and startups and he has globally trained executives at organizations like Coca Cola and Hewlett Packard on AI applications.
Earlier, Jazib has been COO of a technology services firm and managed software projects for organizations like Sesame Workshop and BBC. He has been part of leading initiatives across Pakistan in telecommunications and solar energy and has written dozens of articles and columns on business and social issues for the local press. He has consulted for global think tanks like Edtech Hub bringing evidence to public sector education initiatives across South and South-East Asia including early understanding on AI usage. He has consulted for organizations managing funding from donors like Gates Foundation for education and AI initiatives across Africa and India. As an MIT LEAP fellow, he has engaged in micro-consulting projects in educational technology from the Middle East to South America.
Jazib completed a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and addressed his graduating class as selected student speaker. He completed an Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation and Education from Harvard University and presented his final project from the course ‘AI in K-12 Education’ at the MIT Media Lab at the AIED conference in Chicago 2019. He continues to present on ideas in education and AI at global conferences including the MIT Scratch Conference, the mEducation Alliance Symposium and the Harvard Alumni Summit Middle East and Africa. He is the President of the Harvard Club of Pakistan and an active speaker, trainer and mentor of students and entrepreneurs in his community.
