
Julian Huppert
Dr Julian Huppert is an academic and politician. After a career in bioscience, he served as the Member of Parliament for Cambridge, UK, and now runs the Intellectual Forum, an interdisciplinary centre at Jesus College, Cambridge. He is a Director of the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, a Council Member of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics, and Chair of two NHS ethics Committees. He was Chair of the Panel of Independent Reviewers for DeepMind Health, Chair of the AI Ethics Working Group for the UK Home Office Biometrics and Forensics Ethics Group, and was named 2013 ISPA ‘Internet Hero of the Year’. He holds visiting Professorships at the University of New South Wales and King’s College, London, and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales, the oldest learned society in the Southern Hemisphere.
